Story

Hello! Much against my better judgement I'm running the 2023 London Marathon in... just over two months (April the 23rd, to be exact). I've got a fairly decent base level of fitness (10km-ish a week), but I also love the pub, so the next two months are going to be relatively horrible as I resist the urge to go for a quick one after work, or to watch Liverpool in The Crown, or to spend an entire Saturday pushing myself to the outer limits of reason and sobriety in some arse-end of London.

I'm raising money for BlindAid, a fantastic London-based charity helping blind and visually-impaired people, aiming to improve quality of life and promote independence. Their Sight Support Service provides vital outreach support for 1300 people a year. It's a great cause, and one I'm sure you'll agree is worth putting in at least the price of a pint for. I'm trying to get £1500 - a very doable target in the time I've got. See you at the Berwick Street Blue Posts afterwards. Let's gooooo.

We offer practical and emotional support to blind and visually impaired Londoners. Join our amazing community Every pound we receive and every action you take helps us reach more people with sight loss. Our Sight Support workers offer emotional and practical support to over 1000 blind and partially sighted people. But the need is much greater: in our community there are still thousands of people who are left alone to deal with the impact of visual impairment. That is why we need your support: to help us reach every single person that is feeling isolated. Each gift we receive will ensure we can offer support, advice and reassurance to people with a visual impairment when they need it most.
