We are raising money in memory of my niece Grace. She was diagnosed with a tumour on her kidney just 3 weeks before she died after developing abdominal pain. Initially it was thought to be a Wilms tumour, but the day before she died, histology showed it to be a highly aggressive rhabdoid tumour which was untreatable. She died in front of me in her parents' arms in the Cancer unit at Birmingham Childrens' Hospital. In the 3 short days there, she received amazing care. We were so grateful that Grace could travel to Acorns Childrens' Hospice after she passed away. Here she was able to rest while we came to terms with events, until her funeral in November. The pastoral care that we were given by the staff has made our journey that little more bearable. The hospice is run on entirely charitable grounds, and as such needs as much support as possible. Any donations would be appreciated.
