Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page,
My good friend Tommy Easton of VQ Construction has committed himself to raising £65,000 towards patients rooms in the new hospice which is being built in the grounds of Bellahouston park. Tommy has experienced the pain that families go through when a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, as his brother did, the care the hospice provided for Tommy's brother and the support provided to his family was immense and helped the family understand and cope at a difficult time, sadly Tommy's brother passed away. The staff and volunteers at the hospice are unreserved in giving their time and understanding to families who went or are going through the same pain that Tommy's family went through so to say a big thank you he decided to give something back to the hospice and commited to raising the money needed to kit out patients rooms, he is already well on his way with £28,000 raised at a golf day that I had attended this is when I made the decision to walk the West Highland Way and to donate the money to Tommy's cause. Having visited the hospice myself, you come away feeling very humble in the fact that the staff and volunteers are so committed to making sure the patients get the very best of care and at some stage in our lives either a family member or someone we know has been diagnosed with cancer of one type or another, this is why myself and the guys of the Bellahoustonn circuit class have taken on the challenge so I ask you to donate however small to a worthy cause and let's help the hospice close the gap and get closer to the amount needed to build a new bigger better hospice in the Bellahouston park.
Can I add: that we as a class have raised over£10.000 over the last 16 years for the hospice and aim to maintain our giving every year by various ways and means. This walk is another challenge that we have set ourselves to raise awareness and support of the hospice. It's what we do.
