Story
With the choice of carrying small hand weights, a weighted vest or go the whole hog with a bergan, the aim is to complete 150 miles throughout July. My personal goal is to complete it all with at least 35lbs (16kg) on my back.
I had a sporting accident a few years ago, which nearly cost me my lower left leg. Numerous rounds of surgery resulted in plates, screws and pins holding my ankle together and the ability to walk limited distances following extensive rehab.
I now have a carbon offloading brace, which helps me walk longer distances - funded by H4H and provided by the wizards at Stanford Hall.
5-6 miles a day may not seem like much to some, especially in the military community, but every step I take will remind me of the value H4H has added to our brothers and sisters over the years. This effort may just pay back a small fraction of the support they have provided to me personally.
100 miles now done with 16kg - the weight (and the blisters) will increase over the next 50 miles.
