Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After my previous London to Paris and London to Geneva rides in 2016 & 2017, this year I’ll be taking on the iconic Deloitte Ride Across Britain.
This is a nine day, 980 mile ride from Lands End to John O’Groats. That’s averaging 105 miles a day and taking in some of the country’s toughest climbs.
Again This is to raise as much money as I can for Bloodwise, to help fund their research into beating Blood Cancers (Leukaemia and Lymphoma)
This is all in memory of my dear friend Matthew McCombe, who we very sadly lost a little over four and a half years ago. Matthew (who would be 40 years old this month) had been diagnosed with Lymphoma back in May 2012, and with immense strength of character, the loving support of his amazing wife and family, he beat Lymphoma. Matthew had been in remission for a total of 14 months after his Bone Marrow Transplant, when we lost him.
I have also found strength, determination and been inspired by a very brave little boy. Seven year old Peterborough United Superfan, Caleb Hyland who was diagnosed with A.L.L Leukaemia two years ago. Despite the continued treatment (another 6/7 months to go), he’s doing really well at school and now plays football for Melbourne Rangers F.C.
So this is my way of saying thank you to Bloodwise, for the great work that they do. Thank you for the research that gives patients a fighting chance, thank you for the belief they give them, and for the support they give to them and their loved ones.
If you are able to donate and help me say THANK YOU, it would be greatly appreciated. Or you could also give blood and help save a life.
