Story
Save the Children exists to help every child reach their full potential. In the UK and around the world, and make sure children stay safe, healthy and keep learning, so they can become who they want to be.
Like all charities they are in a situation where the demands on their services throughout the world are growing and their ability to raise funds has been limited.
We have been trying to keep fit by walking during the COVID-19 pandemic and rather than just doing it for ourselves we decided to support a worthwhile cause. Lindsay was on the Save the Children Malvern Branch Committee until our move to Macclesfield and Jim has continued managing their website and Facebook.
Save the Children have initiated the idea of Walk the World and we have said we will help organise it, as well as taking part. The idea is that from 1st May we form a team to walk the 2,800 miles to Syria. Several members of Malvern STC along with their friends are joining in the challenge and together we hope to raise as much as we can to support Save the Children. Your help and support either through donations or by joining us walking would be much appreciated.
