Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My dad, John Loftus died in 2003 after a long battle with Alzheimer's  Disease.  He used to have a saying when I was growing up, "your twice a child and once a man" - when the disease took hold of him I understood what he meant.  I also want to say Thank You to my sister, Jane, who gave up work to care full time for my dad over 15 years ago.  She continues to care for my mum to this day. She is a wonderful person.

So why a marathon?  I was inspired by my daughter, Tessa Loftus when she ran the 2015 Brighton Marathon and so got back into running this year - mainly 10Ks and Park Runs.  I had no real intention to do a marathon but decided to bite the bullet, while I am still "a man".
