Story
Like many young people, Lewis Sewell (a close colleague and friend's son from Castle Donington) was embarking on his dream career. His dream was tragically never fulfilled following a diagnosis of a rare cancer on 5th February 2020, which led to his passing just 6 months later on 15th August 2020.
Before his terminal diagnosis, he was preparing to audition for drama school, and he saw how difficult it is for young people to access opportunities available in the arts industry. He came up with the idea of establishing a fund to support aspiring actors and set out the criteria himself for the awards. By supporting me to "Walk for Lewis: 18 miles for 18 years", your donation will be divided equally between Rainbows and the Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust. This will help support young people in the arts industry and allow Rainbows to continue to offer bereavement support to families like Lewis.
I will be joining Lewis' family and friends on Friday 28th May to walk the final leg of the week-long walk. Please rest assured that we will be following the latest Covid-19 guidelines. The money raised will be split 50:50 between the Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
I am also a founding trustee of The Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust and feel truly blessed to help to honour Lewis' wishes and ensure his legacy will give other young people the chance to shine!
Thank you very much for supporting me.
