Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
As some of you may know, Neasch's father George died of lung cancer on 14th May after a very brave six week battle. George's cancer started in his lungs, but then spread to his liver and bones. His strong will and determination to fight this disease coupled with the fantastic care and support he received in hospital gave him a precious few more days to spend with loved ones.
It seems that every family in the UK, and no doubt worldwide, is affected by cancer and George's death has given me the incentive to compete in and complete the Royal Parks half marathon in October in support of Cancer Research.
Around 285,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year in the UK. Cancer Research UK work to improve our understanding of cancer and develop better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease. I can think of no better way to honour my father in law's memory and to help towards preventing this viscious disease from devastating another family.
Any donation would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, Jim
