Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

Story

A few weeks ago a little bird mentioned that two of my running buddies (Derek & Steve) had decided to sign up to run this years Loch Ness Marathon at the beginning of October.  I know most would laugh but I immediately felt a pang of envy. This is something that I have wanted to do for some time now. I had bit the bullet before the pandemic & signed up to run the Stirling marathon, which never happened due to restrictions. Anyway, to cut a long story short this was all I needed to hear & it wasn’t long before I was straight on to it & signing up to join them! 🙈

My love for running began 14 years ago when Anya was a baby.  I soon discovered not only did it help me physically but it was great for the mind too. Shortly after this I ran my first 10k at Balmoral. Chuffed to bits as didn’t think I’d ever manage!  For the years that followed I have tinkered away running the odd 10k race here & there but it wasn’t until I met the lovely folk from Jog Scot Meldrum that gave me the push to enter half marathons.  I can’t tell you how much the group mean & have made many friends along the way. We were all there for each other throughout the pandemic & it’s lovely to see more & more people coming back again as the time goes on.

Anyway,  I could go on & on & talk about running all day (nae like me 🤣), but think I’m actually looking forward 🤩 to the challenge of running 26.2 miles 🙈. Well aware a lot of work still lies ahead in preparation for the big day. The ‘Two Ronnie’s’ (aka Derek & Steve) have been fantastic training buddies, both in motivation👌 & in entertainment 😃. It’s amazing what conversations you can have on early Saturday  morning runs 🤣 💩!  I have often felt guilty of getting in the way of their ‘boy chat’ but as they point out it would be difficult getting a word in edgeways anyway! 😲😂

❤️

Together as a team we hope to raise some much needed 💰 for this amazing charity which provides invaluable support to our close friends & family 🥰 Thank you if you’ve already donated. It’s very much appreciated 🙏

Now bring  it on!  💪 LNM 03:10:21   🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️
