Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
My father died in 2008. I was with him in the hours before he died and there were so many things I wanted to tell him - about what a great Dad he had been and how I hoped my sons would grow up with his kind heart and warm hands - but I couldn't. Because my Dad had Alzheimer's. The cruelty of the disease in taking away that simple human act of being able to communicate, whether by sound or touch, is what shocked me the most.
So, in memory of my Dad, and to show support for the many other families dealing with the ravages of Alzheimer's, I have signed up for the biggest physical challenge of my life so far. I am going on a 10 day Nepal trek in November this year, to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Walking for 6 hours a day at altitude is no stroll in the park with Bailey (our dog), so I will be doing something I have never done before in my life - working out!! Kyle is already scaring me with talk of heart rate monitors and working within 'my range' whatever that is.
My fundraising target is £2,700 so I need as much support as you are able to give me.
