Maggie's Dundee needs your support now more than ever. We are here supporting people with cancer and their families who are worried and anxious that their treatment plan might be changed and wondering what coronavirus means for them.

Story

Four weeks after giving birth to her youngest child Isla in late 2021 Jenny was diagnosed with mouth cancer.  After three major surgeries Jenny was told that the cancer was still there and in March 2022 needed her fourth surgery for a full glossectomy, (complete removal of her tongue), resulting in restrictions to Jenny's speaking, swallowing and feeding.   This surgery is currently being followed up by radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Throughout this period Jenny and Ally's spirit's have been humbling and they are determined that Jenny will beat this cancer and overcome all the challenges that have been and will be thrown at them as this disease has impacted the whole family's lives.

As friends and colleagues of Ally we have all been supporting the family with our prayers, which I know have been gratefully received by Ally and Jenny.  As well as holding the family in prayer we decided we would like to do something practical as a thank you to this charity as we know Maggies Centre in Dundee has been a tremendous support to Ally & Jenny and also to 4 year old Ruaridh by providing age appropriate resources to come to terms with what is happening to his mummy.

Any donation will be gratefully received to allow this charity to provide the excellent service to the many families which value the support given to them.

Maggies Dundee needs your help now more than ever. Were here giving the best possible support to people with cancer and their families at this incredibly difficult time. We have one to one phone, skype, facetime and email support. Our online community, run by psychologists, cancer support specialists and benefits advisors, is there to answer questions directly and post daily blogs on how to cope with self isolation or treatment changes. You can join our online kitchen table and chat to others in the same position. Everything we do depends on your kindness We will always be there for people with cancer but we need you alongside us.
