Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Well we made it on one of the hottest nights of the year as well - so a big thank you to everyone who sponsored us off line as well as on here - took us about an hour and a half - it was the thought of the people that had dug deep into their pockets to donate and the bacon roll at the end that spurred us on - would we do it again next year - well the others seem to think so - hopefully we can get a bigger team together and do more training next time !!

We are doing a 6 mile sponsored Midnight Walk in Spalding on Friday 9th July in aid of St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice we are a team of four and have called ourselves the Combat Crew. We are doing the sponsored walk for several reasons - our family have lost several people to cancer over the last few years the St Barnabas Hospice Home Care Team helped us out when my mother Blossom was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few years ago - they were wonderful and we couldn't have picked a more caring team than the ladies who came here every day. Paula has had thyroid cancer and I have had breast cancer so together with our daughters Nicola and Katy we know what being a cancer patient is all about together with all the ups and downs along the way. None of us know when we might need the help and services that the St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospices offer and we just want to give something back to them.

We would love to raise thousands of pounds but realise that is possibly just a dream so our realistic target of £400.00 would provide enough funds for a special air mattress to provide comfort for a patient and just £95.00 gives enough funds for a patient to attend for a day at one of the community hospices.
