On 30th June 2013 I will start a 12 month placement in Ethiopia working for the Tigray Regional Health Bureau in Mekele in the north of the country.  I will be there as a Health Management Information Systems Advisor.

Every year VSO send volunteers all over the world to help develop people and to achieve the vision of a world without poverty.  Their health policy seeks to improve the health system by strengthening and supporting health professionals and specialist services thus improving health outcomes for all.

Any money donated does not go to the volunteer but to VSO where it is used in a multitude of ways across the globe.  Their aim is to send skilled professionals to share their skills with local peole and communities wherever the need arises.
