Story
Having lost my Mum (and Godmother) to this horrible disease when I was 7 years old means I’ve always been affected by breast cancer. But when I was diagnosed with it, I knew I really needed to do something to raise monies towards trying to eradicate this disease forever. So, here I am 18 months post diagnosis and stripping off to my underwear as a Prevent Breast Cancer Ambassador (cleverly called a Boobee) and strutting the catwalk with my fellow fabulous BooBees. This is all part of an amazing 80’s fund raising event at Manchester Central (yes, a huge venue!).
Why? As well as raising money, everyone needs to know that post surgery we still look pretty damn amazing! And we want a world where breast cancer is a thing of the past and no one has to lose a loved one to this disease.
All monies raised goes to Prevent Breast Cancer. Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
