I have been very fortunate and exceptionally lucky to have been selected to represent Diabetes UK at the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April 2019.
I decided to fundraise for Diabetes UK, firstly to raise awareness, but also to help people affected with Diabetes in the UK, through continual research and on-going support for them. The job this charity do to help people affected with Diabetes in the UK is amazing and we need to keep this charity going through our fundraising efforts.
My Uncle, Stuart Leckie passed away suddenly in September 2018. He suffered from Type 2 Diabetes for the majority of his life. Anyone who knew my Uncle Stuart always mentioned how much of a lovely, kind and caring man he was. Even when he was not keeping well, he continually had a smile on his face and a wicked sense of humour, which I will never forget. I will be running this Marathon in his memory.
It’s been a dream of mine to run the London Marathon and to actually be given the chance to do so, for such a great cause and in memory of such a great man it’s an immense privilege.
Please give what you can and thank you so much in advance x
