Story
This past summer I became a Living Organ Donor by donating a kidney to someone that I do not know, a Non-Directed Donation. The experience was amazing and since going through this process I have learned a lot about myself and the donation process. I have recently begun to volunteer with the Iowa Donor Network (IDN) and want to encourage others to learn more about organ donation.
I have met many wonderful donors, recipients, families and supporters through the Iowa Donor Network and am looking forward to more to come. One way to do so, is to attend the Donate Life Transplant Games of America taking place in San Diego in Summer of 2022! I am raising money to help support Team Iowa and my own participation in these games! I greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide - no donation is too small.
Team Iowa celebrates the gifts of organ, eye and tissue donation and encourages others to register as a donor. By competing in the Donate Life Transplant Games of America we honor our donors, our donor families and celebrate life. The team consists of athletes and support members who participate in various events at the Donate Life Transplant Games of America. All athletes have received an organ, bone marrow, tissue or corneal transplant or are a living donor. To learn more about the Iowa Donor Network, please visit: https://www.iowadonornetwork.org/
