Story
I am walking 100km in March.
Since my diagnosis, I’ve been up and down and lost my fitness a little.
Soon I will start an Oxford University Study as they try to find out more into MGUS and it’s progression.
I’ve lost friends to blood cancer and cannot believe I am where I am. It seems surreal, as each day, I get up and tell the universe it’s not my turn.
Living with a condition with so many question marks around it and all of the hospital appointments at the moment. I can’t keep up. Trying to adjust to this and knowing my life will never be the same again. All the while begging that it’s not my time.
Walking is good for the bone marrow and I need to do everything to protect mine. Yes, something has already changed in there and I now carry a deadly protein in my blood, but I am doing everything in my power to stop it’s progression.
You never think it will be you.
Please donate however much feel ok with and let’s help research. My children have a chance of inheriting my condition and I hope something is found before they’re older.
Thanks
Jill xx
