Story
As Christmas approaches we often think of family and friends that are no longer with us. It is just over a year since our best friend Paul passed away and this year we have decided that rather than send Christmas Cards we would support Marie Curie. I have set up this page in the hope that those of you that usually send me cards donate to this good cause instead.
Everyone probably knows that Marie Curie provide a support service for the terminally ill and during Paul's illness they provided great support to Sarah. Sarah recently raised over 1700 pounds - quite the achievement.
So a Christmas story.... a few years ago Sarah and Paul came to Australia and spent Christmas with us. As we all enjoy the odd vino we headed to Margaret River and spent a few days in a cottage. We all agreed an early night was in order so that we were fresh for the all day wine tour the next day...... it wasn't long before several bottles of wine were sunk and Paul's selection of tunes were pumping from the stereo... Paul popped out to the toilet and suddenly music changed from the 80s to Riverdance... Mr B burst out of the door and as some of you will have seen in the past produced some of the best river dance moves carried out by a non professional - he was 'lord of the dance'. Needless to say we only had a couple of hours sleep then it was off on a wine tour. Following the tour we felt a glass of bubbly was required in the spa, Paul sat down in the hot tub only to propel himself out cause he thought he had his fags in his pocket then realised that was ridiculous as he was wearing swimming shorts... relieved he sat down again... only to realise his fags were actually in his pocket :). What a class act he was!!
Too many stories to mention but lets all raise a glass and put our hands in our pockets to Pauly this Christmas. We think of him every day, taken too soon but never forgotten.
Your donations I am sure will go to benefit other families who benefit from the support of Marie Curie.
Thank you xxxxxx
