My charity is Sue Ryder Care, who looked after my Dad before he died - and gave him a few days of loving care as well as a wonderful view of the autumn colours from his bedside window. They are a very worthwhile cause - and would really appreciate your generous support. Here's a quick extract from their website......
Here at Sue Ryder Care we rely on the generosity of our supporters to enable us to provide compassionate care to people with long-term and end of life conditions.
Each year we provide 4 million hours of care to people with cancer, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Huntington's and Parkinson's disease, stroke and dementia.
We deliver specialist caring services in people's own homes, in the community and in our hospices and care centres enabling people to manage their treatment and live their lives to the full.
Through innovation and research we work to improve standards in long-term and end of life care. We have recently received government recognition for improving end of life care for people with long-term conditions; our research partnership with the University of Nottingam is extending skills and knowledge across the sector. We have piloted leading hospice at home services and holistic care management programmes for people with complex physical and psychological needs.
Our work goes beyond the UK. With fifty projects across 12 countries in Europe and southern Africa, Sue Ryder Care is positioned at the centre of an international health and social care partnership.
Each year we need to raise £74 million to fund our work.
Thanks for your support - and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
.....and I might even show you the photos!
