Story
I'm pledging to walk 100 miles (160km) in June for cancer charity Sarcoma UK. My best friend Lou has been living with sarcoma since 2016 and after numerous operations and treatments is now receiving palliative chemo treatment every three weeks. The 'magic potion' allows her to carry on being awesome and for that I am eternally grateful.
We've been friends since we were 12 (which is a big number of years!). She's an amazing human - down-to-earth, tough as nails, generous, kind and full of energy. Always busy doing something, helping someone and simply making the world a better place.
Over the last few years her upbeat attitude and positive mindset have been a true inspiration. Lou has pledged to walk 100 miles and I'm joining her. If she can do it, so can I!! I want her to know that I am right beside her, every step of the way. (Even though I've just realised that miles are actually MUCH longer than kilometres!)
So, please help us to raise awareness of sarcoma and support the work of Sarcoma UK. If you can spare a little cash to sponsor us, that would be great. If you'd like to join us in walking, fab. For local friends, I plan to do a longer walk every Friday and/or Sunday so let me know if you fancy joining me for a little hike!
Whatever you can do, thank you for your support.
