***FINAL PUSH AND UPDATE***
The good news is I'm doing the London Marathon on Sunday (Not if Emma is reading this!!) the not so good news is that my back has let me down!! I will be aiming to complete it but certainly not in the time that I'd hoped. As most of you know last year I had a stress fracture in my lower back which meant I had to defer my place - this hasn't really improved and I've not been able to train, which means I'm doing the marathon (to Emma's disgust!!) but to complete it and tick off my life ambitions.
The rest is the same but my final push for sponsorship....Thanks all.
So here we go…..I’ve made it, I’ve managed to get in and get a place to run the London Marathon this year in October. It’s about 10 years later than planned but I’ve finally managed to get in after about 10 years of failed ballot entries.
I’ve got to get into a training mode now, I think Harry is considerably more excited about the prospect of training together than I am, but it starts (soon 😉)
Work kindly have got me the place so I’m raising money for our centenary charity…Teenage Cancer Trust. Here is where the tough part begins and I’ve set myself a target of £2000, I’d love to smash this but it is a nice target to set…so over to you, dig deep if you would and help me on my way, your support will be greatly appreciated!!!
Now over to me, I’ve got to get my body in shape, hopefully my back holds out and I need to ensure I get my sorry ass round the course!!
I’ll keep you updated on progress but here we go….bring on the London Marathon this year…
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. 2022 is an exciting year for EH Smith as we celebrate our 100 Year Anniversary, we have a packed-out year of celebrations, charity fundraisers and events planned. Each of our fundraising events consists of different teams, you can donate to which ever team, charity or event you wish, all donations help us to reach our target. For the first time in our history we have partnered with a National Charity and are proud to announce that throughout our 100th year we will be committed to supporting Teenage Cancer Trust as well continuing to support local charity and community projects. Take a look below at some of the events our staff are undertaking this year. Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”, the Teenage Cancer Trust offer specialised nursing helping these young adults with their diagnosis, treatment and after-care. They are the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need. Your donations help to support Teenage Cancer Trust and these other amazing charities.
