Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Hi Everyone!
As some of you may or may not know I have been accepted on board the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2017-18. It is ONE OF A KIND - the only race that non-professional sailors get the chance to RACE around the world!I am going for the full circumnavigation! - Thats about 40,000 miles! There are about 20 crew on board the 70ft yacht at a time with a professional skipper. Those who know me, know that I did indeed take part in the Clipper 2013-14 edition, completing leg 6 (Qingdao - San Francisco) onboard Team Garmin. One leg wasn't enough - so, challenge; THE WORLD.... ACCEPTED! It isn't going to be easy and I think it will be the most challenging thing I've ever done but I'm up for it!I will need to complete 4 weeks intensive training before I set sail in the summer of 2017. Every single donation will be gratefully received. Thank You so much, for being a part of this epic adventure!
Why am I fundraising for JST? After a massive operation on my hip way back in 2004 - I lost all of my confidence on the water, I didn't feel that I could do anything that I used to enjoy - rowing, sailing, power boating etc.
With sponsorship from my local rotary club, I was given the opportunity to sail onboard the good ship STS Lord Nelson; Hamburg - London. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! With this new found confidence, I returned to the Sea Cadets, bubbling with excitement knowing that I could get on the water, and not worry about my mobility.
Since, I have sailed across the Pacific Ocean onboard a Clipper 70, and intend to Circumnavigate the world with Clipper Ventures in 2017-2018
Donations to this page are mainly independent / some will be a percentage from my sales of my fundraising attire. THANK YOU!
