Story
Despite being quite an active person, I've always been a casual, fair-weather bike rider, usually riding no more than 30 miles at a time, and usually ending up in a pub garden! I've never ridden more than 50 miles in one go, so this will be a challenge for me, with the ride totalling 300+ miles over 4 days, starting on the 15th June:
Day 1 - London -> Calais = 100 miles
Day 2 - Calais -> Abbeville = 75 miles
Day 3 - Abbeville -> Beauvais = 70 miles
Day 4 - Beauvais -> Paris, finishing up at the Eiffel Tower = 60 miles
Having seen first hand the incredible work that family action does, in their Camden centre just up the road from our office, I'm thrilled that I'll be raising money for such a worthy cause. Family Action is a charity that NewDay has supported for many years now, and is an truly vital lifeline for families across the country; even more so now with the legacy of COVID and now the cost of living crisis making it more and more difficult for families.
Family Action transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the country. They have been running since 1869, and today work with over 60,000 families through over 160 community-based services. Thousands more are supported with financial assistance through education and welfare grants programmes. Their services reach out to those in need, to strengthen families and communities, build skills and resilience and improve the life chances of children and adults. With your help we can continue to support those that need it most.
