Story
Having got a ballot place in the London Marathon for the second time I found out a close friend of mine, Sophie, had not been as lucky. Sophie had wanted to run the marathon in memory of her daughter Lily, who only lived for a few short hours after being born prematurely in November 2018. Losing Lily was heart breaking for her parents, Sophie and Liam, and therefore I knew immediately that I wanted to run in her memory.
I hope that by running for Lily, I can show her, and her parents, that she is always in our hearts. I would also like to raise some money to help prevent others going through the same tragedy as Sophie and Liam.
I am raising money for Tommy's Charity who are an organisation committed to saving babies' lives. They fund pioneering research into pregnancy to help save lives and support families through every part of the pregnancy journey. They also help enable specialist care for people at their clinics, research centres and across the NHS.
I spent the first half of 2022 injured and unable to run. I have therefore had to work extra hard to recover in time for the marathon, and I hope to make Lily and her parents proud.
If you can help me raise some money for Tommy’s Charity, then myself, Sophie and Liam would be forever grateful.
