Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to find out more about our fundraising and cause.
We are raising much needed funds to get our daughter, Jessica, a downstairs bedroom. Jessica was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2011 at 13 mths old. She's undergone a number of surgeries and we even traveled to Jacksonville for Proton Therapy. Thankfully Jessica's tumour is currently stable but the treatment has left Jessica disabled, with moderate learning difficulties, visually impaired and bilateral carotid narrowing. The narrowing of the arteries means she has regular TIA's (transient ischaemic attacks or "mini strokes"). Jessica looses all movement to her left-hand side making it impossible to get her to bed safely. We are therefore trying to raise important funds for adaptations to our home to ensure Jessica has a safe place to rest and sleep at all times downstairs.
We've been granted a DFG (Disabled Facilities Grant) of £30,000 but works are estimated to be around £45,000 - so we are trying to raise the additional £15,000 with the help of Sullivans Hero's who help families, like us. Sullivan's Hero's provide grants, support and essential fundraising that help raise much needed funds to adapt the homes of UK's disabled children.
We would be eternally grateful for your support.
Many thanks
Ben & Sam Watson
