At only 13 days old, Jessica was diagnosed with suspected meningitis - a life threatening bacterial condition. Jessica was struggling to breathe on her own so she was hooked up to a constant oxygen supply, she had 3 different antibiotics being pumped into her via 2 different drips, and Jessica also had to have a lumbar puncture. Thankfully the Sick Kids Hospital were able to help Jessica get better, and after a grueling 5 days in hospital Jessica was finally allowed home.
This experience is not one that neither of Jessica's Mum or Dad ever thought that they would have to go through, a heart-breaking experience having to stand back completely defenseless looking on while Jessica was so unwell. They are so grateful for the amount of resources and the invaluable staff that went above and beyond to get Jessica back to full health.
Jessica is now 1 and in full bouncing health and is ready to take on the toddle challenge which she is going to take part in just 2 weeks after her 2nd Birthday.
Jessica will be taking part in the race with her favorite teddy Minnie Mouse and will be wearing fancy dress.
Jessica would like to thank you all and sends sloppy kisses for taking time to read her page and donating to this cause which is close to all our hearts <3
