Story
This year I'm marking my birthday by abseiling off the cathedral. Yes, I climb, but this is actually really quite high up and getting down is always my least favourite bit of climbing 😅
I've volunteered with the choir for the last 6 years and although less regularly now, the choir still has a special place in my heart and I can see the amazing impact it has on members. Increasing confidence, making friends, and on a very basic level - having somewhere warm, dry, safe and sharing a cooked meal with friends.
If you can afford to, it's would be great if you could chuck a few quid in the pot to help them keep doing what their doing. I know times are hard right now, so don't give if you're not able, but if you were planning to buy me a birthday pressie - do this instead!
CWWN blurb:
What we do is simple: our choirs meet once a week for a cuppa and a catch up, we then sing our hearts out for an hour and half, and sit down together afterwards for a hot meal cooked by volunteers. We perform regularly at wide variety of settings including world class concert halls, corporate events, community festivals and homeless hostels. Our choirs are a supportive, safe space for people going through a tough time to be among friends, where they can experience the joy of singing together, have fun, build confidence and skills, and feel more able to tackle life's other challenges, such as securing housing or finding work. Your support can help us continue to be a supportive community for some of the most isolated people in Liverpool.
