My mother was a nurse for all of her working life but she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) immediately after my birth, 22 years ago. She has progressively gone down hill and is now unable to use her legs at all and struggles using her arms and hands. She can no longer dress, wash or feed herself with cutlery. Alongside these dreadful symptoms, she has early onset dementia at the age of 53 and her personality has completely changed and sometimes cannot remember who her family are on bad days.
Unfortunately there is no cure for someone with MS or satisfactory treatment for MS as advanced as hers but there is hope for many others!
I am a moderate-severe asthmatic but always loved my fitness and health, so what better way to kick both asthma and MS's butts and run a 10k?!
I have started training today, exactly 8 weeks to the event and would appreciate any donations towards ridding the world of this disgusting disease that destroys families worldwide, but is so unheard of!
Lets get the word out and support all those who need it.
