HIOWAA Skydive · 30 June 2018 ·
On 30 June, both myself and my brother George will be completing a charity sky dive for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
We've heard first-hand about the work completed by the charity from our Dad, who is a pilot with the Air Ambulance.
Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the Air Ambulance Critical Care Team is called out multiple times a day to attend to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents. Highly skilled crews of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scence of an incident within minutes, ready to delivery the same level of care that you would expect from a hospital emergency department. They fly around 730 missions per year, are able to be airborne within 240 seconds and can reach anywhere within Hampshire in 15 minutes from their airbase in Thruxton.
It currently costs in excess of £9,000 a day to maintain the service of the air ambulance in one county, and it is only thanks to the generosity of communities that they are able to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives - they receive no governmental funding.
Thank you so much for your support!
