Story
On the 23rd of June, I will be embarking on the Rio San Juan Kayak challenge to raise vital funds for the Phoenix Project Nicaragua. We will be kayaking through beautiful nature reserves, spotting amazing wildlife such as crocodiles and toucans, and making our way down the Rio San Juan till we finally arrive at the Caribbean coast, completing a 5 day, 150km journey. This truly is a once in a lifetime trip experience, kayaking through this beautiful part of Nicaragua and I'm so excited to be a part of it! (If you would like to see a copy of the itinerary, let me know and I will send it - it really is amazing!)
Why am I doing this, you ask?
It costs $57,000 a year to run The Phoenix Project Nicaragua and we aim to raise this amount through donations and challenges just like this one. This is how our annual costs are broken down:
• Scholarships, $2,500
• Food and fruit, $12,000
• Local salaries, $16,500
• Project Logistics & School Materials, $21,000
• Local Programs, $5,000
This does not include the costs of building the classrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, fences etc…
We need your support to enable us to keep working with these communities and to give our students a brighter future.
Thank you for supporting me and supporting a cause that I believe in!
