Story

On June 2nd, myself and Louie will be taking part in a tandem skydive to raise money for the Greenwich and bexley community hospice- a charity that means a lot to us both.

The Hospice is a local charity dedicated to providing free, high-quality, compassionate care and support for people with a terminal illnesses, their families, and their professional carers in the London Boroughs of Royal Greenwich and Bexley.

Jessica’s story-

As many will know, my beautiful nan Sonia Munns was cared for by the hospice until she sadly passed away in 2003 at the age of 62, and unfortunately my time with her was cut very short. However I am often told how the hospice made her feel at home and her time there as peaceful as possible- which I feel some comfort in knowing. I feel appreciative that the hospice filled her last days with lots of love and care, as many would say my Nan deserved nothing less because she treated all people this way throughout her life.

I’m often told stories about my Nan and how much of a precious person she was inside and out.

As I didn’t get the chance to have her around and to see me grow up, I would like to be able to do something in the memory of her, whilst raising money for an amazing charity. Therefore, I will be jumping out of a plane 4 days before what would have been my nan’s 82nd birthday. This is my way of trying to give back to the hospice for their support and care towards my nanny Sonia and the thousands of other people they help every single year.

Louie’s story-

After battling cancer for 17 years, my nan - Jackie Richards, sadly passed in 2019 at the age of 62.

A couple months prior to being taken from us, she was taken great care of by the hospice. Every time I visited my nan, I could feel the loving and caring atmosphere the staff created, which was very much appreciated by myself and my family. We couldn’t have asked for greater care and support in what were unfortunately my nans last days being the most amazing, strong-minded women that she was.

I’ve always wanted to show my appreciation for Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice, by giving back to a truly amazing charity that I know will offer many more people the services they provided for my nan.
What better way to do it than throwing myself out of a plane!

Myself and Jess would massively appreciate any donation as this is something close to both our hearts!
