Story
We are deeply saddened to share that our daughter, Jessica Mueller, lost her battle against anorexia nervosa and passed on Monday, March 21st at the young age of 40. Jessie was incredibly strong and her love of life and her friends and family kept her going throughout her 30 year battle against this complicated and horrible disease.
Despite her daily struggle against her eating disorder, Jessie was vibrant, smart, funny, and always focused on living her life to the fullest. She was a warm soul who made friends easily and brought joy into the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her. She was a voracious reader and formidable Scrabble opponent. She enjoyed spending time in nature and watching old movies. The cats she adopted were always hard-luck cases but blossomed magnificently in her care. She strongly believed life is too short for bad coffee and was passionate about supporting coffee growers. She was very creative and loved sewing gifts and making drawings for her loved ones. She loved connecting with children, especially her nieces (Myrna & Nora) and nephews (Liam & Kyle) who will deeply miss their Aunt Jessie. She was loved by many - her sisters Chrissy and Teresa; her brother-in-law, Ryan; her partner Harsh; and many friends.
The world was a better place with Jessie in it. Our lives will be forever changed without her loving spirit. We hope she is finally at peace.
In Jessica's memory, we'd like to request donations to be made in her name to the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA). NEDA does fantastic work to support patients and families who are fighting eating disorders and to increase awareness of this often misunderstood serious mental illness that impacts the lives of so many. We dream of a future world where eating disorders are better understood and can be effectively cured so the disease doesn't take any more beautiful lives like Jessica, from their family and loved ones. Thank you for contributing to the cause if you are able. We're very appreciative.
