Story
So guys, I'm jumping out a plane! Any donations make a difference! (Please, I'm not great with heights)
Myself and a group of students at Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice at Sheffield Hallam University will be travelling to Lesotho in June 2019 on a humanitarian project with Africa's Gift.
We will be taking Wonderbags (www.wonderbagsworld.com) into communities with Africa. The impact of smoke inhalation is paramount in Africa, with 4 million people dying prematurely due to inhaling smoke by cooking on open fires. Not only does this cause premature death but it is the biggest cause of blindness in the Africa and the developing world.
The Wonderbags are used as slow cookers, meaning women and children who use the Wonderbag can cook food for up to 7 hours after preparation without inhaling harmful fumes continuously from open fires. This allows women and children the ability to attend school and gain an education, learn skills and gain employment to not only succeed in their lives but for future generations.
Through this will are able to educate and work with women in these communities within a domestic violence project to help protect and reduce the rate of violence.
We are also collecting shoes (both children and adult) and football kits for children in the local community, if you would like to donate any of these items, please contact me!
Thank you so much, any donation is greatly appreciated!
