Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wonderful Grandma, Peggy was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease six months ago. Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. This leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing. So far, my Grandma has lost all power in her arms which not only affects mobility but also her balance. She is fighting hard and such an unbelievably inspirational women. But I cannot help but feel completely useless - there is nothing I can do to stop the disease affecting her. That is when I had a look at the Motor Neurone Disease Association website (www.mndassociation.org) and it was brilliant. Fantastic advice and great fundraising ideas and events. So, on the 4th December I am taking part in the GRIM Challenge to raise money for the MNDA! This epic adventure is an 8-mile run through a challenging course including muddy hill terrain, thigh high puddles and camouflage nets!

The MNDA is forever researching to find a cure - a world without MND would be a much fairer place. It is not age-related - anyone of any age can be diagnosed with MND.
