As some of you already know me and my nephew both have acute kidney injuries, after suffering from HUS caused by ecoli. Due to the HUS both mine and my nephews kidneys went into failure and we were both treated with plasma exchange, me in London and my nephew in Southampton. Our family was told that we might not survive and both of us ended up in intensive care fighting for our lives, now home we both still suffer the effects of our acute kidney injuries. When I came home I promised myself I would do things that I had never done and push myself out of my comfort zones and not let my poorly kidneys hold me back!  I'm going to run this marathon for kidney research uk as its special to me, for my cheeky nephew who also carries on fighting too and for me.
