Jessica (your sloth swimmer!) works with Kieu-My, founder of 9Kitchens Catering Ltd, a social enterprise and catering company that believes in economic/social inclusion and sustainable food systems.

Richard (not so sloth-like cyclist) loves the ethos of 9Kitchens and has experienced Kieu-My's fantastic meals and had a personal cooking class.

Cathy (self confessed slow runner) is new to 9Kitchens but is well aware of SUFRA's great work.

9Kitchens, together with Sufra NW London, is raising money to fund Community Classes for migrant women in the local community - to promoting upskilling, mental well-being, confidence building, social interaction among communities, cultural barriers removal by creating series of community cooking classes for sustainable eating and cooking. 

On 28th May 2022, we are entering the Bleinheim Palace Triathlon as a part of Team Sufra to fundraise for those classes. Your donations will be used to pay kitchen rent to conduct those classes, pay for ingredients, pay for instructor, pay for equipment.

We will use your generous donations to:
1) Source ingredients for community cooking classes on sustainable cooking and eating
2) Rent kitchen space and equipment that are necessary to develop our teaching activities
3) Pay salaries to the instructors.

More on 9Kitchens
9Kitchens was set up in October 2020 to provide an income to migrant women who face challenges in accessing foreign labour markets. Many do not have formal qualifications and they are not proficient in English. They have to look after their young children and can not afford childcare or are just subject to discrimination.

During the first lockdown, Kieu-My, female founder of 9Kitchens, met two Syrian women refugees who were strong and able to work only if someone could give them the chance to hire them and to understand their constraints.
