Story
Thanks for taking the time to read this. On March 25 my mother sadly died of cancer. In her final days, and for a spell of time before that after Christmas, Danetre Hospital cared for her. I cannot stress enough the difference it made to her quality of life, how kind and attentive and wonderful the staff were, and how they helped my brother and I ensure she was the most comfortable she could be.
I’d decided to do this walk when I knew that her illness was terminal. I’ve done long hikes before, but never alone, and while I’m excited to see such a beautiful part of the country I’m also rather nervous - particularly given my famously awful navigational skills. Mostly I just want some peace and quiet in nature to reflect, and decompress after what’s been a pretty awful time
This is why my target is fairly modest - I’m doing this for me, but if I can help the wonderful staff at Danetre as well in some small way I’ll be thrilled. I know times are tough and the cost of living is hitting us all, but any donation would be really appreciated.
Thank you.
