Empower Period.
Campaign by Irise International (RCN 1157722)
The mission is to end period shame in the UK by 2025 and replace it with a positive narrative that empowers girls to feel confident about themselves and their bodies.

Story

I'm taking action to end period shame in the UK by 2025 and replace it with a positive narrative that empowers girls to feel confident about themselves and their bodies.

Period poverty and shame are preventing women and girls from realising their full potential around the world.

In the UK, 1 in 7 girls and young women don't know what a period is when they first start menstruating. 70% aren't allowed to go to the toilet during class.

In Uganda 78% of girls and young women lack basic knowledge about their own bodies and what a period is. Over half are missing school.

Women and girls are suffering in silence but Irise's support can change that.

In Uganda our projects achieve a 20% reduction in girls missing school.

In the UK over half of girls involved in our projects become more confident about their bodies.

Together we can transform a cycle of shame into a cycle of empowerment that enables women and girls to access the support, materials and information they need to feel happy and healthy during their periods.

Thanks for your support x
