For those who know me, I'm not the most active kind of person; so this is definitely a challenge for me! But a challenge I am willing to accept.
R.E.D January is all about getting active every day in January. No rules. Whether it's 5 minutes a day or working towards running 5K! The aim of the game is to help raise vital funds for Mind’s services, but also helps boost your mental and physical health at the same time! So from 1st January 2018, I shall be dusting off my trainers 👟 and getting involved and doing my part towards this great cause.
Mental health, I've found, can be a very taboo subject and as someone who has suffered greatly for 5 years, I can happily say that more needs to be done towards it. Not just support for those who suffer but also an understanding for those who don't. Just because mental health isn't a physical illness, like a broken leg, doesn't mean it's not there; and just like a broken leg, with time, with help and with understanding, it can heal.
1 in 4 people suffer with a mental illness and unfortunately, there are many people out there that are not getting the correct help, or any help at all. More needs to be done. Your mental health matters just as much as your physical!
