Jess running London Marathon 2023!

Fundraising for Brain Research UK
I will be running the London Marathon 2023 for Brain Research UK. This will be by far one of my biggest challenges yet but I can’t wait!
My main reason for deciding to run for this charity is that last year my auntie unexpectedly suffered from a severe stroke putting her in intensive care and the worst was expected. It was said that what we knew of her was gone and although the lower-level autonomic functions continue, they could also be expected to fade. Miraculously though she started to be responsive and things just got better from there to lead to her recovery. Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky and others with bleeds on the brain have had their lives devastated. This shows just how complex the brain is and it’s definitely an area that requires a lot of research.
I aim to raise £2000 to help towards this cause and any donations would be massively appreciated, thank you🫶🏼
Brain Research UK is the UKs leading dedicated funder of neurological research. Put simply, we fund vital science in brain research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and treatment, and work towards the prevention of neurological conditions, to help people who suffer with them live better longer. Our funding is currently focused on the 3 research areas of Brain tumours, Brain and spinal cord injury, and Headache and facial pain. These key areas are where there is a large unmet patient need that is not reflected by current funding. By concentrating our efforts on these three areas, we can have a more significant impact and progress scientific research to change lives.
