Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 20th August 2017 I'll be sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in the first leg of the Clipper Round the World Race from Liverpool to Uruguay - an estimated 35 days at sea and under sail.  In June 2018 I'll sail the last leg of the race from New York back to Liverpool via Derry. Twelve ocean racing yachts with professional skippers - but amateur crews - will race around the globe and will support Unicef as their official charity partner.

Having never sailed before there will no sailor more amateur than me and I know the voyage will test me to the limit both physically and psychologically. Of course I could have opted for a nice relaxing sailing holiday in the Med - but where would be the fun in that?

Unicef is an internationally recognized charity that helps children in danger everywhere.  I'm giving them my commitment in pledging to raise a thousand pounds through an ocean crossing - will you give them yours?

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
