Story
I have been very fortunate to have won an amazing opportunity to take part in a team of six, who now are training hard to ensure a successful climb to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro in October. But, how difficult can it it be to climb this mountain, especially if Chris Moyles can make the ascent? :)
It is a whopping 5,891m high, however it is fair to say climbing this hill is not in comparison to climbing Everest or K2, but climbing with care will be required.
Altitude sickness can be the consequence of climbing too high, too quickly. Climbers can struggle with vomiting, headaches and their digestive system. Of those who make the trip, 60 to 70 percent suffer strong symptoms....eugh! There will be no world breaking records on this attempt.
I hope you can help me whether a little (or alot) towards achieving my fundraising target of £3,000. The gift of giving is far greater..
