Story
At the end of July 22, I will be heading to northern Rwanda with ActionAid to help build a much needed classroom block for children attending a primary school. There are over 2000 pupils in the primary school and there is not enough space to accommodate them. Classrooms are severely overcrowded, forcing some classes to be taught outside under the trees. This makes it very difficult for the children to concentrate and learn, resulting in poor performance and dropouts, further exacerbating the cycle of poverty. Missing school can have severe consequences on a child's education and future but also can make children more vulnerable to experiencing violence.
This trip has been postponed twice because of Covid. So hopefully, this third attempt will be succssful!
ActionAid is an international humanitarian charity who is committed to ending violence against women and girls living in poverty. Any donation would be much appreciated! You support will enable more children to access their right to a quality education. Thank you
