ASPIRE Channel Swim 2003 · 15 September 2003 to 7 December 2003 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Please, please sponsor me online - help me reach my target - I'll be swimming 1408 lengths of the local pool... you just need to press a few keys!!! But both are necessary for success...

It's the most efficient way for me to raise funds for my charity ASPIRE. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you - so the government is donating too :O)

Both myself and my chosen charity, ASPIRE, really appreciate your donation. Any amount will make a difference but please try to give generously! I am donating £10 from my incapacity benefit as a prize for the nearest guess as to how long it will take me - add your guess in the comments box! Please remember I am only 5 foot 1 inch tall, and weigh 15 stone... and I only swim breast stroke... so it will be a while!!

Many thanks, from the soon-to-be-less-round small bird :O)
