Story

On Saturday October 28th 2023, Jenny Allwood passed away after suffering with an aggressive cancer that changed all our lives forever.

Jenny is Grace's Mum and Ged's Mother-In-Law.  One year ago in January 2023 she was told that she had bladder cancer. Not long after that we found out this was terminal, and aggressive.  Macmillan provided a massive amount of support through this ordeal. They listened. Provided support and intervention. Which during one of the worst years of my life was invaluable.

Aleathea and Isla are Grace's school friends - and because of the way we bonded, Jenny was always like another Mum, there to listen, take care of and support each of us.

Not only this, but we would like to carry on my mum's legacy of fundraising for Macmillan. She has completed two mighty hikes, and now it is time for me to take over the mantle in her memory.  To help with her fundraising she would sell her home made jam to friends and family and thus "Jenny's Jams" was born.

As the team "Jenny's Jam(s)boree Journey" we are taking on a Mighty Hike along the beautiful Northumberland coastline to raise money for people living with cancer in memory of our Mother, Wife and Nannan.  We have set the high target of £2000 for the team fundraising and would appreciate any support in reaching this.

By fundraising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
