Pretty Muddy Glasgow 5k 2015 14:30 · 20 June 2015 ·
We are Frog and Peach - two sisters hell bent on running (albeit slowly) towards Victory.
We started running together to have more reason to hang out and try to shrink our butts a little. Also sibling rivalry compelled us to try and keep up with our impressive third sister.. We also wanted a goal to strive for. That goal was the Women's 10k in May and it was actually pretty easy - we came around 1450th. Boom.
So we thought we needed a bigger challenge and entered Pretty (frickin) Muddy. It's half as long as the 10k but it's MUDDY and one half of our team doesn't like mud all that much (Peach). And there are obstacles. Frog is excited and experienced with obstacles (having recently spent 7 days overcoming the small obstacle of El Cap), but Peach not so much (having recently fallen out of the shower whilst entirely sober). But it'll be fine. Once in a crowd, we are quite competitive, hence our 10k result.
After Peach was diagnosed with a tame but incurable lymphoma in 2013, we got an insight into how frightening, life altering, saddening, maddening and annoying cancer can be, but also how important early diagnosis is and how many amazing people there are caring for people affected by the big C and looking for new treatments and cures.
Sponsor us and help this great cause - the more money we raise the more likely it is WE WILL WIN. Suggested donation: £1000 pp.
Disclaimer: Frog (Jen) & Peach (Cathie) are our nicknames for each other. We did not realise they would be used anywhere other than our entry form. Professional contacts, please do not let this colour your view of our immense talent/skill/maturity/employability/promotion-worthiness/ability to take organised fun seriously/understand how really quite simple things like justgiving work. Many thanks :)
