Fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust. My motivation and inspiration is Alex. Alex was an amazing nineteen year old who had just finished school, passed his A levels and had secured a university place. Devastatingly it was very soon after this that Alex was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma. Ewings Sarcoma is an aggressive bone cancer that despite treatment became terminal. As a Paliative Care Nurse, I met Alex and his amazing family a few weeks before he died.
Jenny "What is it like to die?" Is what Alex asked me one evening. How would you reply to that question when faced with someone so young and who had his whole life ahead of him?
Watching how loved Alex was by his family and how much they didn’t want him to die, will stay with me forever. If love could have changed things for Alex, then he would definitely still be here today.
Unfortunately there are more teenagers like Alex who need to be helped. In April, I am running the London Marathon in memory of Alex and my goal is to raise £2,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Please help me (it doesn’t have to be much to make a difference). Thank you ❤️
