Story
I'm joining thousands of others on June 18th, all cycling the 54-mile epic city to coast route from London to Brighton for the BHF.
While I love a good spin class, I haven’t spent much time on an actual bike in a number of years and am very much expecting to get stuck on my pedals (joy of cleats!) at some point during this cycle!
I read a colleague’s post about how they had done this for a number of years and would love a company team to do it this year. I was moved, signed up and forgot all about it … until I got a place in the ballot!
While I’m slightly daunted by the challenge, I feel that this is the year. I’m fast approaching my 35th birthday (July!) and I wanted to mark it by focusing on my own physical and mental well-being, while raising funds for a charity that does amazing things.
The BHF fund around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under their microscope.Thousands of people every year are helped through the research the BHF do. Research funded by everyday people, like me and you. Every donation you make to this page helps fund scientific breakthroughs. Please support my journey fundraising for the BHF and help turn science fiction into reality.
I would really love it if you can help (and motivate me!) by donating and I would welcome any thoughts, tips or advice from keen cyclists!
Thank you so much!
