Story
Jenny was 22 when she died. She was at football training doing something she had done hundreds of times before when she collapsed and died. She was never ill, had no symptons of any illness - her passing was a complete shock.
We have now found out that Jenny suffered from Bland White Garland Syndrome. A rare congenative heart defect with no easily identifiable symptons. It affects 1 in 300,000 new born babies (2 or 3 in the UK each year) of which 90% die before their 1st birthday. Of those that survive a further 80 to 90% die by sudden death before their 35th birthday.
Jenny was so unlucky to suffer from this but we were so lucky to have her with us for so long. She was a wonderful woman who touched the soul of everyone she met. We were blessed to have her as a daughter, and our only solace is that she died doing something she loved.
